Frankly speaking, when people buy a salad, they think that they are automatically speaking going to get the best possible choice for their diet, and to some degree you could be right, if you are using the right ingredients! But most people don’t. If you for example had Romaine lettuce, you would be doing better. But most people like to use Iceberg lettuce, which has no nutritional value whatsoever. Second, people like to load up with croutons and slather their salads with dressing.
This is definitely a horrible idea, and it won’t help you at all. It will only add more fat calories, which is why McDonalds salads for example are actually extremely unhealthy, along with the fried chicken they often put on their salads among other things. So basically speaking, you are sabotaging yourself. So in other words, instead of croutons and eggs and otherwise, try loading your salad with Romaine lettuce, peas, carrots, vegetables in general. Try cutting your dressing coverage in half. That’s a big thing, keep it reasonable in general. This will help you to actually get the benefits of a salad.
