The Best Ways To Get Flat Abs

Flat abs are great, and frankly speaking, I know quite a few people who will literally spend  months, hours, even years trying to get those flat, washboard abs.  They buy belts that are supposed to send electrical impulses through your body, which are by the way completely false.  They buy little sit up machines, it’s great how much money they actually spend on these.  But the best ways to get flat abs are a bit more simple than that.

  1. Get a cardio routine going-yes, you have to burn fat to get flat abs, and ultimately speaking, the only way to get flat abs and burn fat is to use cardio, run, walk, whatever you happen to like doing for your cardio workout.
  2. Acknowledge that there is no targeting-yes, it’s true, you cannot target fat or otherwise, even around the core.  You can build muscle, but you cannot burn the fat.
  3. Build the muscle-in order to have washboard abs, you have to first have the muscles to show it.  So while you’re working on burning off that fat, also work on building the muscle ultimately speaking underneath it.
  4. Stop using the ab machines or for that matter sit ups-sit ups are ultimately extremely harmful to your back, and they really don’t work the abs properly.  Instead, try using plyometrics
